Chromatographic analysis of trace impurities in monomers
D. M. Sokolov et al. · 2025
For optical polymers the purity of the starting monomers is critical: impurities at the level of hundredths of a percent change the refractive index and reduce the light transmission of the finished part.
Sample preparation
Most of the error comes not from the analysis itself but from sample preparation: evaporation of light fractions and sorption of impurities on the vial walls. Using inert labware and storing samples at a reduced temperature removes most of the discrepancies.
